USDA extends the CFAP signup deadline.
Tuesday, August 12, USDA Under Secretary Bill Northey announced changes and updates to the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). Farm Press discussed the changes with him in a virtual interview.
CFAP is a part of the CARES Act for coronavirus aid. "We put this program together back in April and May and started signups at the end of May," Northey said. "It's really to address coronavirus losses between mid-January through mid-April." Northey anticipates additional programs to address losses incurred from mid-April and after.
